Evaluating the Mechanical Properties of Commingled Waste Plastics: a Mixture Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
The study presented demonstrates the modeling of a commingled waste plastics blend. The approach is based on statistically designed mixture experiments and regression analysis. Through the evaluation of a specific array of test points, mathematical models and response surface plots were developed which describe the degree of influence and relationship of the formulation vari ables.

Determining the amount of waste plastics in the feed of Austrian waste-to-energy facilities
Although thermal recovery of waste plastics is widely practiced in many European countries, reliable information on the amount of waste plastics in the feed of waste-to-energy plants is rare. In most cases the amount of plastics present in commingled waste, such as municipal solid waste, commercial, or industrial waste, is estimated based on a few waste sorting campaigns, which are of limited s...
متن کاملCommingled CF/PEEK Hybrid Yarns for Use in Textile Reinforced High Performance Rotors
Owing to a higher melt viscosity compared to the thermoset plastics the impregnation of the textile reinforcement structure with a thermoplastic matrix is significantly difficult. Commingled hybrid yarns produced on the basis of air-jet texturing technique have the potential for a homogeneous distribution of reinforcement and matrix filaments over the yarn cross section. The so achieved very sh...

Recycling is a logical option for materials that are not suitable for composting. One of these materials is iron mines waste that, according to their compounds, can be used as a substitute part of cement in concrete. For this aim, rheological and mechanical properties and durability of light weight self-compacting concrete (LWSCC) containing Sirjan iron mine waste (SIMW) as partial substitute o...

Plastic (Polyethylene Terephthalate, PET) is now used as packaging material for a whole range of consumer products in addition to carbonated beverages. Although plastics are very useful product, but the disposal of these wastes has become a problem and is of great concern, particularly in our country. One of the solutions to the disposal of plastic wastes is recycling it...
متن کاملThe Influence of Compatibilizer Addition and Gamma Irradiation on Mechanical and Rheological Properties of a Recycled WEEE Plastics Blend
Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is growing rapidly, and the plastics within WEEE have an important role in fulfilling the recovery and recycling targets defined in the European WEEE Directive. This study considers recycling of WEEE plastics by making a blend of the different plastics instead of separating them. The mechanical and thermal properties can be enhanced by adding a c...
